Gear sources · Evidence before enthusiasm

Before you farm it, verify the route.

A named boss, quest, recipe, or vendor is a useful lead—not a guarantee that the route works exactly the same in the current WoW Forever beta. This guide explains our labels and gives you a fast way to check a target before spending gold or an evening in the wrong dungeon.

What is the item?

Check its current tooltip, wear level, proficiency, unique rules, and special effects.

Where is the lead from?

Separate a Forever report or client recipe from a location inherited from Classic data.

What remains unverified?

Check entry, faction, prerequisites, reward choice, recipe access, stock, and current availability.

ForeverDB report

The dated catalog mirror identifies the acquisition record as a Forever source. We have not personally reproduced the drop, quest, or vendor interaction. Open the linked source, compare its build or observation date, and check whether later changes may affect it.

A Forever report is stronger than reusing an old Classic location, but it still does not establish eligibility, a guaranteed reward, or a drop chance.

Client recipe

The client snapshot contains a recipe record connected to the item. That does not by itself confirm that the recipe is currently obtainable, which trainer or vendor offers it, the available materials, or the profession skill required.

Classic location — recheck in Forever

The route comes from inherited Classic location data. Treat it as a place to investigate, not a claim that Forever preserved the same source. Check a current Forever database page, tooltip, observation, or official announcement before committing a long farming session.

What each route still needs

A sixty-second check

  1. Open the item link. Confirm the current tooltip matches the stats and effect you are planning around.
  2. Open the selected route. Look for current Forever evidence and note when the page was updated.
  3. Check your character. Confirm wear level, proficiency, restrictions, uniqueness, and what the item replaces.
  4. Check route requirements. Verify dungeon access, quest prerequisites and reward choice, recipe access and skill, or vendor requirements.
  5. Keep an alternative. Save another candidate or route so one uncertain source does not stop your whole plan.

How our planner uses sources

The class pages rank base-stat candidates with an original editorial heuristic, then keep acquisition evidence separate. Filters remove routes outside your current view. A saved target is not silently replaced when filters change; it moves to “need review” so you decide what to do.

The current catalog is a dated, scoped snapshot—not every possible item. Random suffixes, unknown sources, some restrictions, special effects, sets, enchants, and later discoveries can change the practical choice.

Item and source facts come from the dated client mirror used by the planner. Read ForeverDB’s verification explanation for its evidence model. Forever Noobs’ labels, checklist, planning score, and explanations are our own.
